Hotwire Hotel: Bsoton Back Bay/Copley for 2 adults/2 small kids

Hi

I've not used HOTWIRE or PRICELINE before and would appreciate advice on bidding for a Back Bay/Copley Sq hotel. We are a family of four (2 adults, a 2 year old and a baby), planning to be in Boston 1st to 4th Sept and again 6th-10th Sept. Budget is max $80/night.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

PRICELINE only guarantee a room for two adults. That could mean one bed. Are you ok with this? On HOTWIRE can you search up to a quad room.

Additionally, is your desired budget $80 "all-in" (w/taxes/fees) or $80 + taxes/fees? Rates in Boston in September are pretty busy, and $80 - while certainly well worth trying - may be a little difficult, based upon the rates I'm seeing.

We would be looking for 3* or 3.5* in Copley Sq. We do not mind sharing a room with the kids as they could go in cots, so Priceline sounds the better option.

Any strategy suggestions?

There is no " Back Bay-Copley Square" zone in PRICELINE so i'm asusming you're referring to the "Copley Square-Theatre District" zone? I think $80 may be a tough win for these dates but to give it a try...

At the 3.5* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3.5* Copley Square...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...
