Tried a few bids from $60 up ($5 a piece)...ended up reducing stay by one day and bidding up til successful at $85 (hmm, not sure it's a steal for a 3*...but oh well).

I've actually been looking at this date range myself and about 3 days ago quite a few hotels in the area had a spike in rates.

Can you please add a reply to this thread indicating if your original date range was 7/24/10-7/27/10 or 7/25/10-7/28/10 as it might help with the dates i'm watching.

Original date range was 7/25/10-7/28/10. Now I just have to find something for night of 27th (is there some convention on during this time?)

I'm not sure what is happening in the area but rates started to go up over the last few days... especially on the 28th. Could just be that we're getting closer to check-in and more people committed to their trips/business meetings.
