Hi, I've booked flights to New York from the 30th Jan till the 7th Feb.

I'm just interested to hear anyone's tips with regard to booking accommodation. I understand it will be low season in the US at that time.

Is it advisable to wait a few days before arriving to book on priceline? Or more like a few weeks?

I definately shouldn't try and book now...right?

I'm keen to get as cheap as possible (obviously),

I'm after a 3* hotel around either midtown west- times square or upper manhattan or midtown east-grand central.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Why not? If you do you some research and know what a "good deal" is for the January/February timeframe, if you could get such a deal now why not lock it in? For example, if you do some homework and find that you should expect a 3* hotel in the $80-$120 range (i haven't looked, just using these figures as an example) why not bid now in the $70-$85 range?
