Priceline Hotel: 4* Toronto (Markham) Sheraton Parkway North

I was actually aiming for the 3.5* Delta Toronto East because

1) it has a nice pool and most hotels in this area don't have pools so it's easily identifiable (or so I thought)

2) it's right around the corner from where I live and this is a quick birthday fun get-away (while still remaining close by so the teenagers don't think they have the house to themselves for the whole night with no one coming to check on them!)

First bid $65 3.5* in Scarborough, Markham: rejected

Priceline offered to accept my bid on a 4* if I went up to $80. I admit it. I didn't do the research and my curiosity got the better of me. I accepted without knowing with 99.999% certainty ahead of time what I'd get.

And I got the 4* Sheraton in Richmond Hill. Which isn't what I'd call Scarborough/Markham. Though it does have a pool. or three. And it's just up the 404 so it's no big deal.

But it's funny because I just spent all of last weekend at the Sheraton Parkway at a convention.

I never imagined I'd be going back there quite so soon.

At least there's a Starbucks on site.
