schuey99 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Is it too early to start bidding now for the marathon in 2011?I need to be specifically in the Copley Square area....what is the best price that I should start bidding at?Would I be able to get something at $200/night?Editted to add:Is there a link/info as to what everyone does in regards to this "rebidding in zones" trick?
djs Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Honestly, this is one of the few weekends in a year that hotels in Boston are pretty much booked up. I just did a search on HOTWIRE (using the link provided here) for that timeframe and a 2* in the Copley/Back Bay area was $149 a night. To be honest, I can't even imagine what hotel that would be.....though some digging on this site might reveal the answer. Totally based on the price HOTWIRE is offering, perhaps a bid on PRICELINE of $200 a night might get you a 3* hotel but most likely you'd be looking at more. If you're willing to take the waterfront or charlestown area you might get something better, but Boston is not like NYC or Vegas in that we don't have thousands of rooms for the taking.
yellowdog Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 schuey99Welcome to BetterBidding :) No, i don't think it's to early since this event looks like very busy. And if your plans are firm so just start bidding. Is the Copley Square zone the only zone you're willing to stay in? Like the OP says, other zones might be cheaper.I belive that this is the link you're looking for: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained Let us know if you need help with a bidding strategy. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
