Priceline Hotel: Isla Verde, Puerto Rico

Hi,

I hope someone can help. We would like to bid ( late Oct 2010) :) on a hotel on the Isla Verde Beach. Am I being too specific? I know that is in Carolina. Is that where I should look? I looked on the Priceline areas, and only saw San Juan listed. It certainly can get confusing if you are not familiar with the areas.

The PRICELINE zone San Juan includes Isla Verde, Old San Juan and Condado (and areas in between). When you bid San Juan you can get any of the areas and not limited to Isla Verde.

If you look at the list of hotels for San Juan on this site, you will see the hotels and star rating that have been won. In reality the distance from Isla Verde (which is near the airport) to Old San Juan is less than ten miles.

If you are set on a hotel with a beach, stick with resorts.

In addition to the above, if you'd prefer to stay in the Isla Verde section i'd recommend using HOTWIRE where you can take an educated guess as too the hotel you may likely receive based upon the amenities shown before your purchase... and therefore have a guess as to the location.

I've been to San Juan many times and Isla Verde is one of my favorites. When we go, I just bid resort level, San Juan and have gotten the Intercontinental, ESJ, Caribe or the Marriott in Condado. All of them are lovely! The Caribe doesn't have a good beach but has a lovely pool and is near Old San Juan. Looks like someone recently got the Intercontinental for $92 and the Caribe for $89.
