Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Please provide your desired budget per night, as well as which zones you would like to bid for and which star rating.

Additionally, there is no way to guarantee beachfront via PRICELINE; a better option would be to use HOTWIRE and look for a listing with an "oceanfront" icon.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Ok I can also try HOTWIRE. Please let me know if you have suggestions for the best way to go about using hotwire also.

My budget is about 100 per night. I need 2 rooms for 2 nights 7/23 to 7/25. Looking for a 3 star or above with a preference for Central and North. I would also consider a 3.5 * at Pawleys but not a 3 star at Pawleys.

Thanks so much for your help :)

July is High Season in MB and finding an oceanfront for $100 may be tricky, especially for only two nights. HOTWIRE doesn't have much and Price.Lie can not guarantee oceanfront.

Travelzoo or TravelTicker may have something for you, otherwise you may need to turn to conventional booking sites and get a AAA discount or something. But before then, exhaust all your PRICELINE / HOTWIRE options. Good luck and please let us know what you find.

MB seems to be more crowded this summer due to gulf coast oil spill.

On EasyClicktravel.com, they have Dayton House (a well reviewed oceanfront hotel) on request for $128, oceanview for $138 or so. On request means you might get it. When you go to book it, you know pretty much right away. Might be worth a try. LastMinuteTravel.com has some hidden hotels that seem nice, but higher priced. The best (near Briarcliffe Acres, a great location) is about $144. If you can go that high, could be a risk worth taking.

Travelocity only has one top secret, can't tell if it's near the beach.

I've heard beaches near Charleston can be tough, too. Hope you find something.

I haven't dealt with EasyClickTravel in awhile but unless things have changed, 'on request' means that they're sold-out of their allotment of rooms and they need to contact the property to see if they can get additional rooms at their negotiated rated. It's a manual process and they've typically would get back to you in 48 hours.

During times of high demand it's not that common for them to get additional inventory as the hotel would rather hang onto that room and try to sell it themselves (for more than EasyClickTravel would pay for it)... during times they're often pretty good about getting additional inventory as the hotel is more willing to give them additional inventory at a discounted price.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Sorry, my bad. I've never used the service, so I have no first hand knowledge.

Perhaps Hilton Head might be good idea? Not sure if Gulf travelers are heading there as much as MB.
