I'm bidding for a hotel in Manhattan from October 7th to October 9th. (From 9th to 10th I went for an airport hotel to keep the total costs down.

At the 3.5* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone....

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone....

Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE

July 19th: No luck, also tried 3* in the above zones up to 140 also without success...

Hotwire is now showing 300$ and increasing for 3,5* in midtown for this period.

So I guess I'm not likely to find any deals until just before arrival.

Unfortunately, October is a significantly busy time of year in NYC, and hotels are often expensive or quite expensive. Rates do vary by dates, and these dates look pricey, with 3.5*'s showing on HOTWIRE as much as $240-300+. What would be your desired budget per night?

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

At the moment I'm hoping to find something around 150+fees/taxes, but as the date nears I may have to compromise on star rating or price.

For now I have bid up to 160 for 3,5* and 140 for 3*.

I have been trying for early October for several weeks. Yesterday, I got a priceline accepted bid of $212 at 3.5* Manhattan Centre Hotel. A little pricey, but seems that is a very popular time of year and the rates are higher.

Good luck with your bidding...hope you get a great deal.

Tried to bid up to 200 for 3.5* and 170 for 3* no luck. So I decided to go for the Hilton Manhattan East (Former Tudor Hotel) at 231 USD per night at Hilton.com.
