rrios5 Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 :) So I put my bid in on Priceline and received my two nights at the Emily Morgan Hotel for $70 a night. I was elated! I've read a few reviews about upgrading once it's booked, I called to upgrade and they are conveintly booked for EVERY room on my 2 nights. This really sucks for my husband and I, especially since I will be traveling with 2 small children. This will be my first and last experience with going the "cheaper" way.
AaronJB Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Sorry to hear about your experience. Did the hotel say they were completely booked up? If so, did they offer to move you to a comparable property? If you are to be "walked" by this hotel to another property, I would call PRICELINE, as there is usually compensation if you are moved from an overbooked hotel. Please do contact PRICELINE if the hotel is in fact overbooked, and let us know what happens.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 If i'm interpreting the post correctly, i don't think the OP is set to be 'walked', but rather is upset that the hotel won't be able to upgrade them as the higher level rooms are not available. However, i'd call the hotel again, as searching the hotel website i do see availability at the higher class of rooms... if the clerk informs you that all rooms other than 'standard' are sold-out i would inquire as to why you see them available on their site.A good time to remind everyone that PRICELINE bookings are for standard rooms and double occupancy... upgrades (paid or complimentary) are great when you can get them, but are not something that should be expected. (imo)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes with the next phone call. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

The bed is so small it will barely accomodate two adults. You definately want to avoid this hotel property at all cost ... even if you have to avoid using priceline for downtown SA. Other than this bad experience, I use priceline and betterbidding as often as I can.
AaronJB Posted July 27, 2010 Report Posted July 27, 2010 Angeo, thank you for the note on this property and sorry to hear you had a negative experience. It would be greatly appreciated if you could post the information on this stay, as even if a past stay, the information can help others.
