Won this bid today for a '4 star' hotel in NYC for the last day of the labour day long weekend. Came out to $158 U.S. after service fees/taxes.

Trip advisor has some good reviews of the hotel (although not a great ranking of it 169/444). One reviewer stated that some of the staff 'look down' on Priceline guests. Hopefully we can avoid that.

Some questions:

-What do you think of the price ? I was going to go with the Hilton Inn from Expedia for $175 CA yesterday, but decided to at least try again on a Monday. Seems pretty good if it actually lives up to 4 star billing.

-Anyone have any experience with the hotel ? Not just the rooms and stuff, but with the surrounding neighbourhood and the concierge service.

We'd also like to try upgrading the room when we check-in. What's the best way to do that ? Just ask during check-in, giving a bribe ?

Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding and congratulations on your success!

Thank you for sharing your result with the board!

I have never stayed at this hotel so i can't help you with your questions.

But the best way if you want to upgrade your room is to ask in a polite way if they have any complimentary or paid upgrades when you arrive.

Enjoy your stay.
