patnode Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Planning to visit NYC Aug. 1-5 with 3 kids in tow. Having tough time finding accommodations for 5. So thinking might go with 2 rooms. Was willing to pay $300/nite for one room, retail rates. Is it reasonable to think I could get 2 rooms for $150 each? How do you get 2 rooms in same hotel?

patnode Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 3* and up. Most anywhere on the island. Youngest is 9.
thereuare Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 If you bid the 2 rooms together on the same bid they will be at the same hotel.Once thing to note is that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. In NYC there are a low percentage of rooms with two beds in them, and some hotels consider these rooms to be an upgrade, so there is a chance that you may receive a room with only one bed and the hotel may be unable, or unwilling, to switch you to a room with two beds. Would this still work for your needs? If so i think you have a chance at $150... it'll be close, but let us know if the double occupancy situation is an acceptable risk and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
