thefadeaway Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Hi, I need some help for getting 5* on the Strip,I don't want Trump :) My aim is Venetian, Wynn, Palazzo, or Mandalay Bay :) I tried from 70-96 for three days, but all failed (22 tries at least)And of course, I used the hyperlink for PRICELINE,Today I tried 80, 85, 87, 89, 92, 94, 96, and all failed, too. :o Can anyone give me some advice? One more question, do those 5* charge resort fee when people arrive? or does the resort fee included in the bidding amount?Thx
thereuare Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Resort fees, if any, are in addition to your bid price and would be payable directly to the hotel.HOTWIRE has a 5* hotel North Strip for $99 with:Casino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Golf, Tennis, SpaBest guess is that this is the Wynn... the one 'issue' is that the Wynn does charge a resort fee, but this HOTWIRE states that this property offered does not charge a resort fee. This casts a little doubt over this ID, but another user recently bought an identical offering, stating no resort fee, and it was the Wynn. (my guess is that either the Wynn has waived the resort fee for HOTWIRE customers, or the more likely scenario, that HOTWIRE has not updated their systems yet for this property) At the very least you know it's not the Trump since that property doesn't have a casino and the offering above does. :)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.. erinandnick Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 My mom called Mandalay Bay yesterday and got it for $69/night. You might want to try just calling. Mandalay Bay is $69/night and THE Hotel is $89
thefadeaway Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 Thanks guys, I will still try to bid a 5* from PRICELINE link (either Venetian or Wynn perhaps)Hotwire will be my last choice, I love the feeling when I made a successful bidding... it's addictive... :) One thing about Mandalay Bay... my friend felt it it not so close to the main Strip... I guess I have to pass the great opportunity.I'll start a new thread about what I got in the end.Thank you all.

thefadeaway Posted July 20, 2010 Author Report Posted July 20, 2010 Finally, I made up my mind, I went through the HOTWIRE hyperlink from the forum.I got Wynn for $99 per night, you are right! :) I decided go with HOTWIRE's offer because both Venetian and Wynn charge $15-20 resort fee per night,so if I want to bid on PRICELINE, the price must be lower than $85-$80, which I cannot get for more than 3 days's trying.the amenities it showed were:Casino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Golf, Tennis, SpaAND, "NO RESORT FEE"!!! :) That's the latest news for Wynn in HOTWIRE, hope this will help others to get Wynn!

jb24 Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Hi,When a bid is one for the Wynn through either Hotwire or Priceline, what type of room is given? Is this room comparable to a suite at the Palazzo?Thank you in advance,JB
thereuare Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 jb24,Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messagesIn regards to the two properties above, both would be for 'standard' rooms. The standard rooms at the Palazzo are suites, while at the Wynn they're 'oversized'... both are generally considered to be very nice.If you need help with an upcoming stay please start a NEW TOPIC.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
