kwoodell Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Currently listed: 3 1/2 * for $115. Which hotel would this be: fitness, pool, business center, laundry, and high-speed internet? We are looking to book a hotel for 2 nights in the French Quarter on Oct. 2-4. We have never been to New Orleans so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

kwoodell Posted July 18, 2010 Author Report Posted July 18, 2010 I clicked the HOTWIRE link you provided (and always use the Hotwire and PRICELINE links from your site). The 3 1/2* property described above is still being offered. Thanks.
thereuare Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board. The lack of a Restaurant icon is somewhat unique for this listing, but i don't know of any hotels in the area with this star rating which have previously been seen without a Restaurant icon... but the Tripadvisor 4.0/5.0 rating does give some hope that this is a 'respectable' property. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. kwoodell Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 Would I be better off bidding on Priceline instead? There weren't any wins listed on the calendar for the dates we need, but I did see that people were able to get hotels in the French Quarter previously for $59-68. Is that still realistic, or will I need to bid higher?
thereuare Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Rates are higher then usual for your dates so my guess is that you'll have to bid higher than the $60-$70 wins you've seen others receive for dates which were different then your own.If you want to go the PRICELINE route let us know what star rating you would like to try for, zone(s) you're willing to accept, and your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. kwoodell Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Posted July 22, 2010 I went on Hotwire this morning using your link and found the Dauphine Orleans Hotel being offered through Hotels.com for $90/night! So we booked a deluxe main house king for Oct. 2-4. It includes a complimentary breakfast. The location in the French Quarter (1 block off Bourbon St.) looks ideal, so we're very pleased!
