Wanted to stay 2 nights in Bangkok and then the rest in Phuket or one of the other islands. Looking at the board it looked like the average for a 5* in Bangkok would be around $50 a night. Is that accurate ? Is January super high season so should I up my bid ? I bid $45 right now, there is a long time between now and January so naturally can afford to wait but obviously would like to lock it down.Would it be better to go with a non-bid source to get the hotel directly ?Suggestions welcome and thank you. I have a few feelers out to some travel agents to see if they can get a better deal for the 5*'s int he region, if they cant substantially beat it then Ill bid again. Link to comment

Chris26WI Posted September 30, 2010 Report Share Posted September 30, 2010 this period is high season.. and it's been years ago that 5stars BKK (excluding the Amari) have shown up @bids of around +/-US$50, and the Thai Baht is still strong... so I wouldn't expect any good deals for the time being on PRICELINE for 5stars (Sukh + Silom-Riv) for this period.
