wg_director Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 I found a 2* at Disney Main Gate - Celebration for only $19 per day (plus resort fee, which I usually talk my way out of when I get there) from August 10-12. Does anyone know what this is? It seems a little too good to be true!
AaronJB Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide the list of amenities showing with the listing and we would be happy to try to ID.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
wg_director Posted July 17, 2010 Author Report Posted July 17, 2010 Only 3 amenities: pool, laundry, and a golf course nearby.I'm grateful for any help, and will report results if I book.
yellowdog Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 wg_directorI'm sorry to say that a 2* property with this amenitie combo has not yet been reported/ID'd to the board. And there's so many lower rated hotels in this area so it's very difficult to do an educated guess on this. But i would like to add that this property looks ok in my book with a TA rating on 3.5/5 and 65% HOTWIRE recommended. So if you're ok with a 2* and the area so go for it.Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.PS. Please follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancell your trip, etc.
lovingmom Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I have been looking at this special on Hotwire also. My trip dates are for 8/8 - 8/11. I did a google search and found a review on Trip Advisor from someone that just recently purchased the $19 hotel and they were booked into the Rodeway Inn Maingate. Their trip was in June so I don't know if it is the same hotel as the one currently listed or not. I do not consider Rodeway Inn a 2* hotel, so I am not going to purchase this one. If anyone else comes up with anything different in the next week or two, I might change my mind.
thereuare Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 The Tripadvisor ratings shown by HOTWIRE aren't updated in real time so they could be a bit 'stale', but the Rodeway Inn is currently showing a 3.0 TA rating, whereas the hotel above is showing 3.5... which would put the odds that this is not the Rodeway Inn. Also, keep in mind that 2* is the lowest rating offered by HOTWIRE, so if they're going to offer Rodeway Inn properties, 2* is as low as they can go.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
djstubbs Posted July 28, 2010 Report Posted July 28, 2010 I had posted the same question earlier myself. I decided for my trip of 2 room, 6 people and 7 nights, it would be worth the risk to buy 1 night, 1 room just to find out what it was.I figured if I totally hated it, I was only out $27 and I knew how to get the Best Western Lakeside if this failed........SOIt is the Howard Johnson Maingate East. TADA....Mixed reviews but people who liked it, pretty much loved it. So I hope this helps you guys out. I am still thinking if I want it or not for my whole 7 night, 2 room trip but I did book the 1 "test night" through this HOTWIRE link.I will post again if I book the remaining and I will let people know of my stay also. Thanks
