1Venus Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Got this hotel on the first try! (Darn, maybe I could have gotten it cheaper!) But, since there are no free-rebids for 2 1/2 star, I was afraid to go lower. Offer: $42Taxes & Service Fees: $12.56Total: $54.56The best rate I could find at this hotel was $89 with my mom's AARP, so I'm pleased. I'm going to a scrapbooking convention at the fairgrounds and know the area is pretty rough. Last year I bid in the Brandon zone and got the Baymont Inn. While the hotel was acceptable, we were shocked to find "ladies of the night" working in front of the hotel. Eikes! The reviews of the Hilton Garden Inn on www.tripadvisor.com were good, so I'm hoping mom & I will have a better experience this year! :-)
thereuare Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Thank you for sharing your win and adding this hotel to our lists. It also looks as if this zone has been re-defined... it used to be East/Brandon, but now Brandon has been separated into its own zone.Actually, is this hotel located at 10309 Highland Manor Drive? If so, it looks to be in the Brandon zone and not the East/Fairgronds zone!Enjoy your stay and the scrapbooking show.
