travelguy2 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 July 24, 2010 for one night, 2 people. I am seeing a 3.5* in the Tech Center South zone for $64 that is not on the hotel list (in fact there are no 3.5* hotels identified in this zone).Amenities: smoke free, breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, internetI am thinking it is a good match for the Marriott given the star rating and smoke free, but Marriott doesn't normally include free breakfast. There's also a Residence Inn in this zone that might qualify. Could those ever be considered a 3.5*? I know there's a 3* Courtyard here from prior experience.
thereuare Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Given the Complimentary Breakfast icon this wouldn't be the Marriott, imo. This property has not yet been reported to the board, but if i were to take a guess i think the Element Park Meadows would be among the likely candidates. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. travelguy2 Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks for the input. I suspect you may be right, but if so this might be one of those rare cases where it doesn't pay to use Hotwire since the same hotel can be booked conventionally for $71/night. When you factor in the Hotwire fees it is essentially the same price as booking directly, plus I would get points for booking directly but not for booking through Hotwire. In the end, given this conundrum I decided to try Priceline and got a good deal at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech which I will post separately. Thanks again.
travelguy2 Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 Won this on the 2nd bid - first tried $40 and was given a counter-offer at $50, but rejected and added Northglenn-Thornton zone and won it at $41. Regular rate is $119 for this date, so definitely a good deal.Used the PRICELINE link to bid.
