Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay... although based upon current rated i think your budget may be tough for anything 3.5* or higher... any only may be enough for a 3*.

Let us know and we'll advise accordingly.

Hi, Thanks so much for your fast reply! I will be satisfied with any 3* upscale.

Currently I am thinking about Offsoho Suite, a 2* Inn, as my backup. It doesn't have a good location, but has pretty good reviews. I got to know this one from a friend.

But I still prefer staying in a better located hotel in TS, MTE, MTW, ESB, MSG.

$150 probably will be my up limit.

Couple of questions before suggesting a strategy...

Since you're bidding the MTE zone i assume you're ok with the location of the Millenium UN (it's about a 15 minute walk to the subway)

Do you also want to consider CPS (if so look at the size of the rooms at The Hudson... good hotel and location, but notoriously tiny rooms)? What about the Chelsea zone?

Let us know the above reagarding the zones and we'll take it from there.

Thank you again for your information!

The location of the Millennium UN is a probable. Even though our activities will be mostly in Manhattan (particularly in TS, MTE, ESB), we do have one senior in our family. It will be more considerate if we can have easier access to subway or bus station.

The Hudson hotel seems to be fine. One full size bed should be enough for each room. No need for luxury space, since we will only stay minimum time in the hotel.

THANKS again for offering help!

You didn't mention the Chelsea zone so i've included it in parenthesis below, if you want to include then bid when suggested, if not, ignore the parenthesis.

At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Thank you so much for the suggested strategy!

Just to make sure I understand the re-bid zone part.

Let's say, if I want to bid for only 4* hotel, then Brooklyn will be a re-bid zone, since Priceline shows that it doesn't have any 4* hotel at all.

And if I want to bid for 3* upscale, then Coney Island could be a re-bid zone, since it doesn't have any 2* above hotels.

Is it correct?

Thanks again for all your support! I am learning a lot from this board!!!!

Got impatient after many days, and ended up with 3* NYC (ESB) Jolly Hotel Madison Towers at the price of $131 for 3 rooms from 8/17/10 to 8/19/10.

Don't know if it's a good deal. But I guess I have nothing to complain.
