Third Noel Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I wanted to stay at the Marriott Key Bridge, so I'm happy with this result.I bid $55 first and was rejected. It said I could bid $70 without making any other changes, so I did and it was accepted. Does it always offer the opportunity to make another bid at a specified price? Is there any evidence about whether this suggested price is at or above the needed bid to win? Or is it just for impatient people like me who figure the price is "good enough." Total price with taxes and fees is $248.79. Parking at the Marriott is $17/day, which is better than some.I also added a rental car for 7 days (pickup 8/7/10, dropoff 8/14/10) from BWI for $268.16. Very good price. Turned out to be Hertz. Thanks for having this board. Just great!
yellowdog Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Thank you for sharing your result with the board!Enjoy your stay.Does it always offer the opportunity to make another bid at a specified price? No, not allways. Is there any evidence about whether this suggested price is at or above the needed bid to win? Or is it just for impatient people like me who figure the price is "good enough."PRICELINE makes good money on the "good enough" bidders. You should allways take your time to re-bid when you get an offer like this. There's nothing that says that you will get the hotel chearper but you'll success in many cases.
