timbones Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I'm going to NYC this coming weekend. I need a room Friday and then two rooms on Saturday.........Is there any way to use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE and still stay in the same place?
yellowdog Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) You can't use PRICELINE this way. You need to go with HOTWIRE for this.Start with searching for Friday and then do a search for 2 rooms on Saturday and see if the same hotel still appear. Remember to search for the correct number of guests on Saturday. If you need any ID help so post the dates, price, zone and the amenties HOTWIRE associates with the hotels you're looking at and we'll have a look at this.Let us know how we can help you further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.PS. Please follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancell your trip, etc.
timbones Posted July 14, 2010 Author Report Posted July 14, 2010 Thank you. I will do all, including using your HOTWIRE links, and will let you know what happens!
timbones Posted July 15, 2010 Author Report Posted July 15, 2010 Here's what happened: I used the link and did a search on Hotwire. I saw that what looked to be the same hotel came up for both 2 nights and one night.......So, I booked a room for just Saturday night - turned out to be the Hotel Mela for 179 a night........Then, I was going to book the 2nd room for both nights, but the listing had slightly changed........It had gone from 90% positive reviews to something like still gathering reviews for this hotel. So, I called the hotel to see if they could give me the same rate. They could do it for 209 a night, but since it was 2 nights, that would have been a bit of a jump. They suggested I called hotwire......They ended up doing a search for me on the phone and they couldn't guarantee that it was the same hotel, but it was going to be from 0-.5 miles away and showed the same amenities, so I liked my chances.......So, I pulled the trigger and it worked out - it was the same hotel. Thanks!
