Wyomingtraveler Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Hi allAs others have recently posted here I was too able to get a room at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center using the PRICELINE link on this site. I was to this room for $55 + taxes for a total of $69.96 for 8/21/10-8/22/10 vs. $144 at Hyatt website not including taxes. This is my second year in a row to get a room there. Very much like the location, as it is close to Coors Field (although no game this year) and Union Station (friend's sister takes an early Amtrak train from there).I started out biding low at $30 for 3.5* in Downtown Denver. That bid of course was not accepted, so I used the the following strategy until I finally got a winning bid. For the first few days I would add $2 on to the bid, and a free rebidding zone (either Thorton/Northglen, Northeast Denver, Aurora, Denver Southwest/ Lakewood, or Litleton) until all of my free rebidding zones were exhausted and of course would wait another 24 hours. On the last few days, as I got closer to $45 or $50 I only added $1 on to the bid until my final bid of $55 was accepted. Now I hope for my friends sake we get a room on a low floor, as does not do elevators and has to use the stairs. I think we were on the 15th or 16th floor last year. :)
AaronJB Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Congrats on your success! :)Excellent bidding, and very nice win for this property. If you need a room on a low floor, I'd definitely recommend calling in advance, as I would think asking for a room on a low floor would be no problem.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
