rider_in_socal
2* in Ridgecrest won on HOTWIRE ... $59/night ... Econo Lodge ... 7/10-7/11.Actually, I was disappointed with HOTWIRE (again) since the Econo Lodge at this price was NOT a deal ... i.e. I could have paid the same total cost by reserving on the website and avoiding the Hotwire fee, and I may have paid less by reserving on the website and using my AAA card. The Econo Lodge in Ridgecrest and their b'fast were nice. I believe this hotel was re-modelled fairly recently, so I have no complaints with the hotel.I only have a complaint with HOTWIRE, since sometimes Hotwire is advertising prices which are not good deals. thereuare
Sorry to hear you were disappointed in the deal you received at this property. It can often be hard to score GREAT deals for stays of just a few nites at the budget properties. For starters there isn't as much margin for the hotel to discount a $60 room as there is for a hotel to discount a $200 room. Add in HOTWIRE's booking fee, which on a single nite stay can be up to ~$7, and it makes up a large percentage of the $60 room... a much smaller percentage of the $200 room. When looking at room rate the deals are usually there (and backed by HOTWIRE's Double the Difference Guarantee)... but when including the booking fee on a low priced room it can eat into a good amount of the savings.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
