qc_hunter Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 We are trying to get an idea what hotels these are. Hotwire 2 adults and 2 children 7/18 - 7/20. We think the first one is the James but we have never stayed there before. Not sure about the 2nd one. The 3rd looks to be the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza which would be to far away. We would like to be closer to a Red Line stop or the Navy Pier. Any other deals out there you might know about? Everything looks pretty high and we are last minute. AaronJB Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 There is a 20,000 person (and another 5,000) convention going on on these dates, and combined with the usual Summer traffic, that seems to have really driven up rates; there is little that appears left available for these dates, unfortunately. The Holiday Inn Express Mag Mile is $229 on Expedia - $10 using the 10SPRING coupon - $219. The HOTWIRE listings that I see when search for downtown for these dates appear to now be regular rate listings.Remarkably, Travelocity does have the Ambassador East showing for $169.15 if you search for 7/18-20 2a/2c.If you are driving, there are some very nice hotels for far cheaper in the outlying suburbs, but it would require about a 35-40 minute Metra train ride downtown. Not optimal in terms of having to travel, but significantly cheaper. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Travelocity links to start your purchases and searches.
