The only hotel I find on Tripadsvior located in Chelsea with a 4,5-rating is Chelsea Lodge, which obviously isn't the hotel on Hotwire, does anyone have a clue?

Thanks a bunch, I'll surely use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. However, if you look at 4* (and above) New York City accomodations from the 19th to the 24th, is there any hotels you could ID right ahead? Budget is around $200 - 350 / night. Thanks again.

The HOTWIRE hotels that have been reported to the board (as well as the amenities associated with the listing) is available at the Betterbidding Hotwire Hotel list for New York If you would like us to help confirm a listing, please provide the star rating, zone and amenities showing with the listing.

If your budget is up to $350, this would also be within range of 4.5-5* properties such as the Jumierah Essex House ($243.65 on Orbitz), The Pierre ($346-10% using the coupon code on Orbitz; although that property would be on the Upper East Side and may not be an optimal location) and the new Trump Soho ($343 although again, the location may not work for you.)

Additionally, your budget range would also be enough for a wide variety of 4*'s via Orbitz. Ink48 is $211 via Orbitz.

I'd be happy to confirm HOTWIRE listings, but in terms of your desired budget, for 8/19-24, there's a wide variety of options at the regular rate level if you would like to ensure something specific.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz links.

The Jumierah Essex House - a 4.5* - is $223 on Expedia, and coupon code SPRING10 takes $10 off = $213.

Also on Expedia: Hilton Manhattan East ($204 w/breakfast special, although this hotel is rather far E in MTE), Affinia 50 ($207) and the Affinia Dumont ($211, and you get a $50 gas card after your stay). SPRING10 can also be used with these.

Please use the site's Expedia link if any of these ideas are of interest.

Objective is to take my father to New York for a few days of relaxing.

So with this end goal in mind, how important is the hotel quality vs. price?

As noted above, you can get some excellent hotels well within your budget (the Affinia hotels mentioned above both get GREAT reviews and thru Expedia are well within your budget)... so if you're looking for something 'known' these can be great choices, the question is if you'd want to go for an 'unknown' hotel for less, and if so, how much of a discount to the ~$200/nite price would you need/want to make an opaque purchase worthwhile?

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board... or the Expedia if you go that route.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
