Ava Adore Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 That's the deal link I am looking at. But i am wanting to book for 5 days in the start of November this year, would I get the same hotel? (I don't want to spend more than $95 a night and be in the loop area.)(I'm also in Australia)thanks!
AaronJB Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide your date/s of travel, desired star rating and budget per night. When using PRICELINE, rates vary significantly by dates and seasons (November is generally a more expensive time of year - especially later in November - due to holiday shopping.) Additionally, when bidding (for example, on a 4* in the Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park area of Chicago), you could possibly get any of the participating 4* properties in that zone - there is no way to ensure the Hilton or any particular property. However, if you were to get a different 4* in this zone, it's quite easy to get from another hotel in this zone to the area where the Hilton is - you could walk if the weather is okay, or there is quite a bit of public transit. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have before bidding. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Ava Adore Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 Hi everyone!,I am looking for some help on a Chicago Hotel in the Loop area for Oct 30 - Nov 4I don't want to pay anymore than $85-$95 a night.I tried to do the name your price last night but was unsuccessful for that area price and 4 stars. When would be best to bid for this as it is a fair while away, but I am overseas and am planning a big holiday so would love to have accom all planned :)Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Did you bid up to your $95 limit last nite?Is the Loop zone the only one you're willing to accept... although i don't think it will help at the moment, how about the NMA-River North zone which is generally considered to be a bit more convenient for the typical visitor? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Ava Adore Posted July 7, 2010 Author Report Posted July 7, 2010 Did you bid up to your $95 limit last nite?Is the Loop zone the only one you're willing to accept... although i don't think it will help at the moment, how about the NMA-River North zone which is generally considered to be a bit more convenient for the typical visitor? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.I went upto $80. I should try for the other area too.I see that area seems nice too, would you recommend that more for a tourist? If I get a winning bid is it usually a hotel in the area I asked for or do they give you a hotel further out, or just pot luck? Thanks
AaronJB Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 If you bid in a particular area (for example, a 4* in the River North-NMA area), then you could only get a hotel in that particular zone, as shown on the PRICELINE map. The River North-NMA area is also a terrific area to bid on, as well. These are pricey dates though, and unfortunately, I'm not sure if $95 will be enough for a 4* in either zone.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Ava Adore Posted July 7, 2010 Author Report Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks. when should i try bidding again? Why are they pricey dates, is there something on?
thereuare Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Why are they pricey dates, is there something on?My guess would be: PACK EXPO International 2010 --> 75K expected attendeesWhat is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 What are some of the hotels you found at the $150 price range... are any of these fully cancellable/refundable??Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 There are a couple of non-hotel properties at the $125-160 level regular rate for these dates. The Standard Club is $160 on Orbitz, and that is a beautiful, very upscale/old world elegant 4* private club in the Loop that rents a small set of rooms to the general public. The other is the Habitat Suites at Presidential Towers for $125. That is a large apartment complex, and these appear to be one or more units that are possibly managed/owned by another company and rented. The apartment complex overall does not get good reviews, but these particular units have gotten mixed, but better reviews overall on tripadvisor. Please check the cancellation policy for each property; neither of these properties have been reported as a PRICELINE/HOTWIRE win. Please use the site's Orbitz links to start your purchases and searches.
