lawton Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Checked the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and the priceline washington DC forum before using the PRICELINE link. Started with a $89 bid for a room, that was declined. Priceline offered me the same star level and location if I raised my bid by $14 to $105. Submitted and won. A $40+ saving over the AAA rate.

LaurenL Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Ok to start with, I stayed at a kimpton hotel in sf, great deal esp with the afternoon wine hour. So I wanted palomar, but was a not 100% sure that it woud be the one pinned....good news, it was......bad news, I tried the 105 bid, was turned down......24 hrs later, tried 125....it immedietely replied, add 20 bucks....I did, lo and behold, got Palomar. I guess August is in more demand. ??? Not as great as I thought, but $55 less than Expedia, tho same as quikbook price for Churchill hotel. I have not been there yet, but if the Palomar is as good as the other Kimptons, still a good deal and worth doing. LaurenL
