Hotwire Hotel: identify hotel Downtown Soho $219 09/24 to 09/26

I am going to the city for a class on canal street but I can stay anywhere in midtown, downtown - doesn't have to be near canal as I can take subway. Will look on priceline as you state that would be best for cost.

I checked your calender here for this time period last year and I see some got deals for $150 at the Grand Hyatt which is a nice hotel. I think I will try lower price first but my other question is with priceline, I cannot cancel the reservation if it is accepted? This is my first time using the name your own price on the site.

Please provide a follow-up for what you decided to do for the trip discussed in your previous NYC Hotwire thread (post in that thread what you decided to do for the stay), then reply to this thread and we will be happy to offer suggestions on the above stay.

I will note that rates have rebounded since last year, and the Fall is traditionally a busy time in NYC.

I replied in that thread as well that I did not go with PRICELINE or HOTWIRE as I got a better deal via the US Open since it was for the tennis tournament.

I understand fall is a busy time in the city but trying to see what I can get for $200 or a bit under as finances will not allow $400 per night.

States fitness center, business center, laundry and high speed internet access....trying to get a good price for this weekend which I realize is a busy one. It says 3 and half stars... maybe the World Center Hotel?

I just tried on PRICELINE for a 4* $165 Mid East/West/TQ rejected

then $170 and $175 also for 3* included Upper East Side...is it best to increase by $5 to see if you get anything than going say $10 more? my first time using PRICELINE name your own price so just checking...thanx!!

Just to confirm, did you bid 3* Upper East Side?

Which zones are you interested in staying (or are there zones you are not interested in?) Are MTE/Empire State Building of interest? What would be your max budget (before taxes/fees) per night for hotel?
