Priceline Hotel: 5* bidding on Oahu (Waikiki Beach Area)

I am willing to wager that the 5* on Waikiki Beach is the Royal Hawaiian. For me, paying more than a resort would be worth it.

If I wanted to bid by selecting a 5*, but the area contains Resorts, would a higher bid likely be won by a resort rather than the 5*?

The Resorts on this board are going around for ~ $100 - $200 from recent postings, but I'm guessing that the 5* is higher priced.

So, basically, how does Priceline rank the resorts vs. the stars?

If I select a 5*, and not a resort, do my bids go against the 5* only, even though the area has resorts?
