akpirani83 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 there is a 4* hotel on the strip (north) that i am getting for the dates from 12/29-1/03 for $194 that i can't figure out what it is. I checked out the amenities list and it doesn't match the list of hotwire 4* hotel list for north strip (Treasure island & Caesars palace) because it has resort as an amenity as well and I don't see that in the list. Could somebody help me out in figuring out which one this is? Also if you could let me know if this is a good deal or should I wait for a while more?

akpirani83 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Report Posted June 29, 2010 Hi i need some help with getting a good price for a 4* or 5* hotel for new years time on the north strip in vegas. so far the cheapest thing I found was $204 for what seems like the mirage on hotwire. I've tried bidding upto $160 on priceline with no luck. I really don't want to pay no more than that $160, could someone suggest some strategies for me. Thanks
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Please keep all discussion of this trip within this thread. Did you bid $160 for a 4* or 5*? If $160 was not accepted, then you could either: bid higher, try in other areas, lower your desired star rating or wait. One plan would be: you could keep trying at $160 once a week, and if you continue to be rejected after a month or two, then re-evaluate. Vegas on NYE is understandably busy, so I'd recommend being persistent in trying to lock up a room. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
akpirani83 Posted June 29, 2010 Author Report Posted June 29, 2010 apologies for creating a separate post...as you tell i'm new here. Yes i actually bid on 4* for 160 with re-bidding technique as well so I actually started $60 below that price. The only problem with changing the area is that priceline has a couple of hotels on the south strip tha i'm not interested in so I don't want to get stuck with those since there is no way to tell which one i'll get. I don't want anything below 4* either so I guess i'll just follow your advice and keep trying once a week. Thanks
