The 4.5* matches both the Conrad and the Inter-Continental, as well as The James, so any of these would be my best guess for this one... there is no information provided which would help determine which would be more likely than the others.

Unfortunately the 4* has not yet been reported to the board.

Thanks for the help. The offerings for the 4.5* choices in that zone on those dates have changed to:

4.5* $142 Amenities: Fitness, restaurant, business center, laundry, internet and spa.

Only 80% hotwire recommendations. No mention of bed choice. Now mentions Trip Advisor rating of 4/5 which seems to match Interncontinental but not the James or Conrad. However, per the hotwire hotel list on here, the James has listed spa and laundry before in their amenity list but the other 2 4.5 choices have not.

If I change the # of guests from 2 adults to 2 adult + 1 child, price changes to $153 and I lose the spa and laundry from the amenity list and gain a smoke free icon. All else stays as above. Smoke free + TA rating of 4/5 points back to the Intercontinental.

I will keep my eye on this - I have a bit of time left to arrange hotel.

I'm seeing the 4.5* (when searching for 2) w/smoke free, fitness, business, restaurant, internet - which I'm guessing may be the Intercontinental with a new smoke-free icon.

:) The 4.5* Chicago Magnificent Mile/Streeterville choice for July 9-11 had been changing in price all week - from a high of $152 to $139. Tonight it dropped to $119 and I decided to go for it.

It was the Intercontinental on Michigan Ave.

Amenities listed Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access. Listing also mentioned 4/5 Trip Advisor Rating.

For that price - I am happy. I used the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link and I thank you for the very helpful board!

Fantastic last-minute deal for this historic property! Definitely check out the hotel pool, which was originally built in the late '20's and was one of the first public pools on a higher floor - considered a feat of engineering at the time. The Grand Ballroom is also quite beautiful. The hotel location on Michigan Ave. is terrific, too.
