Using the PRICELINE link above, I have been bidding for a 4* & 3.5* about 1 month ago with no success.

on June 25th, on my first bid of $80 for a 4* I got an offer to increase my price by $15 so with a short time frame, and bad internet connection I decided to go ahead

and accept the offer and raised my bid to $95

It was accepted at $95 US + all the annoyance fees & taxes.

Perfect location for my stay, Jazz festival a stone throw away, close to metro, airport express bus, & all downtown attractions.

a better organized or more patient bidding strategy may have got a better deal.
