And, I'd like to try PRICELINE. Minimum stars are 3 and max bid is $125 + tax.

You don't have much time to lowball and at the 3* level there are NO re-bid zones... you have TWO re-bid zones at the 3.5* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

I would bid as follows:

So, didn't take it. closed brower and rebid $88 and then $91 and received: Try Again Right Now

You should have taken the 4* for $100, it's a really good price.

I got the same "If you are willing to raise your price offer" on a priceline bid yesterday for a different location, tried a few free rebid zones and then took the suggestion and got the room for the amount they suggested. Seems like if they make the suggestion, it means you'll get the room.

La Posada worked out great - awesome renovations make the place even nicer. Excellent gym, pool and rooms are great. And, of course, the Price was right!!

It was so great, I extended my trip 1 night!

So glad to hear this. I just won La Posada (for $112/night) for later this month. I was nervous reading the various reviews, which make it sound like there are some really tiny dumpy rooms on the property, that I would guess most often go to the lowest paying guests.
