Jamie041 Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Hi, I am new to bidding, although I have thought about it a number of times, but I keep getting cold feet (my wife says it may be age related, but I think it is the diabetes!!).Anyway......I am looking to get a 4* (or 5* if the Waldorf Towers evercomes up!) in either MTE or Times Square Theatre district for 4 nights from 23 July. However never ever having bid before I am looking for the best advice in making my bids. My budget is reasonably good (as if I book as normal through the hotels I would probaly pay $300+) so I am willing to go to about $250 per night (or even slightly higher) to get a good deal.Any advice from the knowledgeable members in here would really be appreciated. Thanks in advanceJIM
thereuare Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding!I doubt your budget is going to be an issue, but before suggesting a bidding strategy, would you be interested in what i believe to be the Roger Williams hotel at all for $169/nite? I ask for if this is acceptable you could drastically reduce your maximum bid down to $165 (from your previously stated $250/nite)Let us know your thoughts on this property and we'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow based upon your reply. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
