chiefboyle Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Back to the Hyatt Regency Cambridge for me - I believe it is $89 on Hotwire at the moment (the 65% recommended rate gives it away I think) - so for the price I am happy. The good thing about this hotel is that you can park for free overnight on Vassar Street by the MIT police station.I did use the PRICELINE link .Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $56.00 Subtotal: $56.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.54 Total Charges: $71.54
AaronJB Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)Nice job bidding, and glad to hear that there's alternate parking options nearby.Thank you for sharing your result with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
bndgeek Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Very nice! I'm looking for 6/28-7/1 and haven't been successful in bidding up to $71 on a 3* in Cambridge. You picked a good night to need a hotel :)
thereuare Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 bndgeek,It would be appreciated if you used the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel bidding/purchases.Thanks. chiefboyle Posted June 25, 2010 Author Report Posted June 25, 2010 FWIW, I was offered the opportunity to extend my visit another night at the same price.(Do we know if that means that another user trying for the following day would be accepted at the price I received?)
thereuare Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 No, the offer to extend the stay is given without regard to availability. You could try to extend the stay and be told:1) accepted at same price2) a room available but at a higher price (and given the choice to accept/reject this higher offer)3) no rooms availableOf course PRICELINE also doesn't know if you would be interested in extending the stay to the beginning (6/30) or the end (7/2) of your trip. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Han Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Is the free parking documented somewhere? I need to be at the Hynes convention center a different month and this would be a great hotel, especially because of the free parking. I've been staying in Somerville to get free parking and driving in but staying this close would be great.
thereuare Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 If you re-read the thread the OP mentions free overnite parking which i interpret to mean 'on the street'... it's not something offered by the hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
