After checking this site, I decided to try for Residence Inn in Brownsville for $44.

Using the PRICELINE link, I then:

Bid $42, 3*, South Padre Island - no dice

Bid $43, 2.5*, South Padre Island - no dice

Bid $44 and added Brownsville - no dice

Bid $35 and added 2*

Got Days Inn - $127.71 all in (3 nights)

Days Inn rate on their site using senior rate is $56.10 and total stay would have been $190.18

This hotel needs to be added to Priceline list in this area
