Gallus50 Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 sybe - Best is relative. What are you interested in? What type of area do you want to be in? USE/USW is bustling, FW is touristy, FD/EMB is really quiet at night, SOMA is too loud at night, for my taste. I don't recommend CC - a bit too gritty. Marina a bit out of the way w/out a car. What are you most interested in?
sybe1999 Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 Hi, Thanks for replying. We will arrive at SFO on November 8th. I'm not sure how many days you really need to see the city, but we plan to stay for about 3 days. So we need a room from November 8th 'till November 11th.
Gallus50 Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 At that time of year, under $150 should not be a problem. Sept/Oct are big. Nov, not so much. Sounds like you want to be in USE, USW, FD/Emb, SOMA or FW to me. The first three are similar; Fishermans Wharf is primarily focused around tourist attractions. If you're fine with that, then it's a good choice. If not, then skip it. The others have more transportation options: BART, Muni, buses and Cable Cars. FW has cable cars, some buses and maybe the F Market Muni train - not sure if it goes that far. This early, I'd start low and see what happens. SF has plenty of free rebid zones. Use them and you'll have lots of bidding options. Check out FAQ's if you don't know what those are. Ask for a PRICELINE bidding strategy and let us know what happens.
