Welcome to BetterBidding!

Have you looked at HOTWIRE if they have any inventory?

If $160 is your max is the only way to keep trying or start over bidding for a lower star rating.

If you need help with a bidding strategy so please post your max/night for a 4* and the zone(s) you're willing to stay in.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

In terms of keeping it under $180, if you have already bid to your max at the 4* level (and HOTWIRE does not have anything of interest), your only option would be to try again starting at a lower price for a lower star level.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Did you look at the retail side of PRICELINE yet (using the link just above - right hand side, but then hitting the little "hotel" word at the top to get you out of the bidding area into retail)?

58 hotels listed at the 3* level, and when I sorted low to high by price, the NB Radisson was on top at $78.

huntington and newport are pretty $$$. i live there for 10 years. If you dont care about being right on the beach you might want to try fountain valley, ca. If you have to be on the beach then try sunset beach. its the city north of huntington beach but if you want to be in huntington of newport then its 2 far. There is a long beach between them. http://besodelsolinn.com <--- is a great place in sunset beach which is right next to the sand. They used to have ebay ads and you could haggle with them. I dont see why you could not just call them and try haggling.
