Need help with DEN Car Rental

I have been searching for a good rental price for Denver for 6/22 - 6/23 for almost a month now. I noticed that the farther back I started, the higher the price, so I figured it would be best to just wait til it got closer. Well the rental prices are still in the $66+ range.

I see so many winning bids for $15-20 bucks, but I've not gotten this lucky. Am I just out of luck trying to get that price for that specific day? I don' tcare what kind of car it is. I just want something cheap for tomorrow that I can pick up at the airport. Any hints or suggestions would be really appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

I meant to post this in the PL section. Sorry!

Rates are date specific... they don't necessarily drop as you get closer to your pick-up/arrival, as it's all based upon supply/demand. A search for your dates shows that rental demand, and therefore prices, are high for your dates... i would find your best deal thru conventional booking channels, then try to save a few dollars with one last bid attempt on PRICELINE, seeing if you can save $15-$20 or so on this one day rental... but i don't see how a $15-$20 is going to be realistic for this rental period.
