Priceline Hotel: 3* Toronto (Markham) Staybridge Suites

Was bidding for a Markham/Richmond Hill location late Friday night around 10:30pm same day booking.

Started 50 dollars with multiple credit cards, and worked my way up, adding toronto downtown north and south as well.

Finally got the offer at $57 for the Stanbridge Suites Toronto-Markham 355 South Park Dr, Thornhill, Ontario, L3T 7W2.

Got to the hotel close to midnight, and front desk rep, said there was an error and the hotel was full and overbooked.Agen

Offered me free night at the newly built Holiday Inn Express up the street on 10 East Pearce St, Richmond Hill.

Also said that I'd get a refund from Priceline as well!

Called priceline customer service line the next day to let them know what happened and to inquire when I should expect my refund.

Agent told me that they'll further research this issue, and get back to me within 2 days.

They E-mailed me back the next day and verified that indeed Southbridge Suites was fully booked, and refunded my credit card.

Pleased that I got my hotel room for free, not too pleased that the selection for the free breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express was rather poor. No croissants, and lobby area filled with what looked like a youth soccer team or something to that like, who took all the good breakfast offerings, before I got to it.

Hotel room of the Holiday Inn Express - Hotel and Suites Toronto-Markham, was great. No complaints, free wi-fi, clean non-smoking room, and comfortable bed and pillows.

Quite a nice deal for this property - while it's too bad you were moved, it sounds like the situation worked out well with the refund.
