Renting a car with PL

I'm hoping someone could help me. I'm going to Virginia Beach from July 15th to July 28th. I am traveling with my boys who are 4 and 5. I booked my flight through Southwest so I could fly at the times I want. I need a rental car while I'm there and was hoping to get some advice here.

I've used PL many times before for cars and usually get the price I want. I'm trying to get an SUV because I will be towing my 2 kids around and my great niece & nephew. The last time I was in VA, I bid $15 to pick up an SUV on a Friday evening for 2 days and got it at that price. So I bid $15 yesterday and didn't get it, and bid $15 again today and once again didn't get it. I read on the website to keep trying because prices may go down to what I'm looking for.

So I'm wondering if anyone can offer some tips or tricks I might try? I'm starting my bids now hoping that I'll get lucky and get the SUV at the price I'm looking for. Thanks for helping out with this one :)

SUV vehicles are premium type vehicles and $15 probably isn't realistic for this car class for these dates.

What is the best rate you're able to find for an SUV thru a conventional booking channel? What is your maximum bid for this rental?
