bluepete Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 I've got a business trip in the area and I'm having trouble winning this bid for three rooms. I've bid it up to $95 for 4* and still haven't won. Should I try bidding for one room at a time? Is there any other strategy I can use?
AaronJB Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please provide your desired budget per night and we would be happy to offer suggestions on how to proceed. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
bluepete Posted June 20, 2010 Author Report Posted June 20, 2010 I would bid up to $100 per night. I noticed people were getting 4* in the same area for around $75. Even on the PRICELINE website, they listed recent wins in Newport-Huntington Beach for $84. Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially since it is about a week away.
bluepete Posted June 20, 2010 Author Report Posted June 20, 2010 Should I risk bidding one room at a time?
AaronJB Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 I would not bid one room at a time, since you could then potentially wind up with rooms at different hotels. $80 would appear to be a good starting point for bidding. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 At the 4* level you have EIGHT re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Newport-Huntington Beaches...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100I've left off one re-bid zone so that if the above fails and you decide to raise your bid we can revise the strategy to try again immediately rather than wait out the 24 hour lock-out period.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
