aoigirl Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Hi guysAny tips to get 3 nights from 5 Aug checking out 8 Aug? Needs Orchard Rd , 5 Star (I don't think the 4 star hotels are handy and this is for my mother, who is a bit picky) Bid up to $79, but nothing yet... seems previously others have got about $79 a night?ThanksMel

aoigirl Posted June 21, 2010 Author Report Posted June 21, 2010 Please post your decision in that thread. Thanks. :)Yes sorry I didn't realise, so it's updated. I bid up to $81 on this so far for 3 nights but I can't seem to get anything... given my mother's age I don't want to bid 2 + 1 nights (even if it ends up being at the same hotel) and just want to deal with it all in one go... any tips? It seems like not many people are getting luck with 3 nights in singapore?
thereuare Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 I assume you're bidding for a 5* hotel? If so, I don't think you're too far off... what is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. aoigirl Posted June 21, 2010 Author Report Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks, given the tax on top of the rate for Singapore is quite high I think perhaps up to $90... (i'm hoping it works out evenly approx $100 US a night)
thereuare Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 At the 5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Orchard Road...Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. aoigirl Posted June 21, 2010 Author Report Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks I'm up to $88 and ran out of zones, so I'll keep trying... will let you know
thereuare Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I'm assuming you started lower than $83, but if you not and you need help determining your THREE re-bid zones feel free to ask for help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. aoigirl Posted June 23, 2010 Author Report Posted June 23, 2010 Thanks, yes I did start lower. So I went89 - rejected91 - add zone rebid93 - add zone rebid 94 - still rejected.....Should I just be going higher? i can afford to go higher prob up to $120 I think.
thereuare Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 You still have plenty of time before this stay, i wouldn't chase this one at this time and would keep bidding with your bids under $95 (or $100 if you're looking to get this done sooner rather than later)Try bidding every 2-3 days at this point for the next 2-3 weeks... then if still unsuccessful 3-4 weeks before your stay you can up the bid a little more. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated along the way and let us know how it goes.
