Well, I started look at around 5:00 this afternoon for just a day or two in the city with my wifey. I JUST joined the forum and was reading all the amazing things, and its amazing :) You guys are pretty damn smart, if you dont mind me saying. :X Well anyway I was kind've looking for some good advice.

I have previously stayed at the hotel "On the Ave" and was not too bad and they are currently having a sale for 20% off (If anyone is interested its a pretty decent hotel, rooms are fairly large and beds are nice as well), BUT, I was really interested in the hotel ROYALTON or at least looking to visit a higher star hotel just because the date is kind of special! :o

Well I was hoping if anyone could help me out and tell me if it is worth spending maybe 200-250?(Price on Hotwire) on a 4*+ hotel on Hotwire??

I just saw someone book for the BENJAMIN and I know that's a very nice hotel!

So if anyone could just throw out some advice or anything! It would be GREAT! :)

Thank you again for those who took the time out to read! :X

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

In terms of using HOTWIRE or especially PRICELINE, one has to be willing to accept what the service may offer as a trade-off for the discounted rates. In terms of getting a particular type of hotel or especially particular hotel, it may be best to book regular rate. The Royalton ($239) and the new Ink48 ($238) are within your budget range on Orbitz.com, and coupon code ORBITZ5 may take 5% off per night for each.

HOTWIRE does have some good deals, as well - a 4* in Midtown Central w/Restaurant, Fitness Center, Hi-Speed internet, Business Center, Spa for $132, which would be a possible match for the Le Parker Meridien. There's also a 4.5* in MTE w/Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa for $182, which would likely be the Benjamin. Finally, there's a 4* in TS for $204 w/Restaurant, Fitness Center, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed internet, Business Center, Spa, which would likely be the Westin TS.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Orbitz.com links to start your purchases and searches.

Fortunately rates are relatively reasonable (by NYC standards) for your dates so you do have some options.

You're lucky that what appears to be one of your desired hotels, The Benjamin, is appearing for your dates, and you can get a nice under $200 deal at that property. I think it comes down to what you're looking for from this stay... as there are other nice deals at the other properties AaronJB mentioned above. For instance, the Le Meridien may not be quite as nice as the Benjamin, but it's $50 less, so you can decide which is a better value for your needs. Also an option, not mentioned above, is the Downtown Embassy Suites... a bit out of the way location-wise, but easily do-able for just one nite, and includes breakfast and evening manager's reception, and at $129 looks like a very good value.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Let us know your thoughts and/or what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

I was thinking I checked out these hotels and it sounds GREAT! Although I was thinking what kind've rooms would these rooms be? Hmmm anyone have any feed back with doing the BENJAMIN, Le Parker Meridien, and the Westin TS? :) So maybe I could decide from there? :) or any other great nice rooms?

HOTWIRE/PRICELINE rates are for regular rooms, not upgraded rooms. You can request an upgrade, but the hotel can charge and can say no.

I'm actually seeing what appears to be the Benjamin showing for less today when searching for 6/18 in NYC for 2 adults. I'm no longer seeing the possible Le Parker Meridien, though.

Ohhhhh Sorry!!! Basically! what I did was since me and my special lady friend :) had stayed at a hotel in the past and we felt like we just didn't want to deal with all the work and rush (my fault that it was a rush lmao :X) we decided to stay at the On the ave hotel! :) and it was great once again! Although we really are considering trying out something new! :o I think our next vacation will be definitely on HOTWIRE through this forum. It seems so cheap and worth it! :) but only with this sites help! :D
