gwade4 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Just booked the Hilton Orringtonl on Priceline last night (6/14). First bid of $45 was accepted with taxes and fees at $14.09 for a total of $59.09 per night.I was hoping for the Doubletree as I have stayed there previouslybut certainly can't complain as I know this is a nice hotel. I am planning on staying a few more nights in the area and actuallymade bids after I had booked the first night. I thought maybe a lowerbid might net me the Doubletree. So I bid for 6/28-6/30. Started at$39 - rejected, then $41 - rejected, then $43 - rejected, and finally $44 - rejected.I was quite surprised that none of those bid were successful. Anyway, looks as though$45 is becoming somewhat of a standard price for the Hilton Orrington.
AaronJB Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Congratulations on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Sorry to hear you didn't get the Doubletree, but certainly a fantastic deal for this property, which was recently (a few weeks ago, actually) taken over by Hilton. The other benefit of this property is easy access to transit (an "L" and Metra station a couple of blocks away) and the restaurants/shopping of Evanston. If you're driving, the Northbrook area to the North is also quite a nice option to stay in the other nights, as well.Thank you for sharing your result with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
