No - Now I'm finding a 3 star for $142 with bed choice for the same dates and following amenities. Any suggestions on what it might be? I THINK I have it narrowed down to Anderson Ocean Club, Best Western Carolinian and Caribbean Resort.

This hotel features the following amenities:

Any ideas? Thanks a million!

With these limited amenities for a resort property, i don't think we'll be able to gain much additional insight. I did look at the three above and they all seem like realistic possibilities, most notably as there is no Restaurant icon listed for the HOTWIRE offering above, and none of these hotels have an attached restaurant.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.

I ended up chickening out on Hotwire, but instead put in several bids on Priceline, starting with the first night of the stay. The bidding process went as follows:

3*, Myrtle Beach, $59 - Declined

3*, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach N, $69 - Declined

2.5*, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach N, $75 - Declined

2.5*, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach N, Myrtle Beach S, $80 - Declined

2.5*, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach N, $90 - Declined

2.5*, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach N, Myrtle Beach S, $95 - Declined

2*, Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach N, Myrtle Beach S, $99 - ACCEPTED

Hotel = Springmaid Resort

Total nightly rate with taxes & fees = $120.76

I bid on only the first night of the stay in hopes that it would be a good hotel and I'd be able to extend the reservation. My husband has stayed here before and says it's a good value for the price. Unfortunately, when I accepted the option to extend my reservation, I learned there were no rooms available for the next two nights - It was worth a shot! Now we'll have to switch hotels mid-trip, but we don't mind.

Also, FYI, the best price I found for July 2, 2010 at Springmaid Resort is $139 + taxes and fees for a grand total of $168.12 (Bookit.com) so we actually saved $48 on this reservation - Which will pay for our gas to get to Myrtle Beach!

Hope my experience helps someone!

Hi Nicci -

Glad you're happy with your purchase, but I think you might benefit from reading FAQs here. Your lowest bids are for the highest star level, and vice versa. BB never recommends raising your bid while lowering star level.

That being said, Myrtle Beach in early July is tough! So good job sticking with it.
