lvmom Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Does anyone know how far out hotels will typically book? I am trying to use Hotwire to book a suite/comp. breakfast room like the Embassy Suites/Lakefront - MagMile/Streeterville for 09/23-09/26. I do not show that it anything like that is available. Is it possible that all the rooms are booked or do you think it is too far in advance and they haven't released those dates yet? Thanks for your advice.
AaronJB Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Good morning. It's a matter of looking into each case on a situation-by-situation basis; it's not too early to book, as September is a pretty busy month in Chicago (at least if prior years are an indication.) One could look into prices and availability and take into account discounts showing on HOTWIRE vs regular rate, as well as average rates for prior years.Rates do not seem too bad for the Fall when looking on HOTWIRE for these dates, but I'm not seeing what would appear to be the ES. Would you be interested in any other properties or were you looking at that one specifically?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
SocialAdept Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Is it even possible to get suites with HOTWIRE? The way I understand the booking information the hotel makes no other guarantee than to host the specified number of guests in whatever lodging they choose.
thereuare Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Is it possible that all the rooms are booked or do you think it is too far in advance and they haven't released those dates yet?Keep in mind that HOTWIRE will only show one hotel at each star level per zone (the hotel with the lowest rate is the one offered) So assuming the Embassy Suites is 3.5* rated, this property will only appear if it is the lowest priced property for the dates you're searching for.Is it even possible to get suites with HOTWIRE? The way I understand the booking information the hotel makes no other guarantee than to host the specified number of guests in whatever lodging they choose.Yes, you can get 'all-suite' properties such as the Embassy Suites, Comfort Suites, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, etc, etc... but you shouldn't expect a 1BR suite in a hotel which also offers 'standard rooms' and where there are only a handful of suites which are more costly than a traditional room. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. lvmom Posted June 13, 2010 Author Report Posted June 13, 2010 I am looking to book four rooms in Chicago - NMA at the same hotel. I would like to use Priceline to bid on these rooms but I am not sure if I am able to have different check in dates in the same transaction. We would like....2 rooms check in date 9/221 room check in date 9/231 room check in date 9/24All check outs are the same.....9/26Thanks for the advice.
thereuare Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Please keep all posts for the same stay i the same thread. When bidding for multiple rooms, all rooms must be for the same check-in/check-out dates. You can either:1) 2 rooms 9/22-9/261 room 9/23-9/261 room 9/24-9/26... with the risk of landing 3 different hotels2)2 rooms 9/22-9/241 room 9/23-9/244 room check in date 9/24-9/26... with the risk that the guests who arrive before 9/24 may have to change hotels mid-stay, but everyone in the group will be at the same location for nites of 9/24-9/26Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you decide to play it and/or how we can be of further help.
