ems Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 Hey there -- I love this board! I'm looking to bid on PRICELINE for a 1 night stay tonight in LALA land. I'm looking to either Brentwood/Westwood or Hollywood, 4 stars. What do you think would be a good bid...I'm hoping no more than 150...is that realistic last minute? I've gotten the Century Plaza before, so I'm probably going to stay away from the Beverly Hills option...just in case, although I'm curious if perhaps a different hotel is coming up for people in that zone. Please let me know any thoughts, ideas, or experiences you might have. Thanks!E
central coast Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 4* win, Los Angeles, BH-NH. I just bid last night for Sunday June 13 and got the Hyatt Regency for $130. I had been trying bids of $100 - $105 the past few days, finally last night my $110 bid received a suggestion to add $20. I know I could have worked a few angles to increase in smaller increments but was ready to just make it happen. I'm pleased with the price, it's a nice hotel.

thereuare Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 ems,Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The HOTWIRE property above is a match for the Hyatt Century Plaza so that would be my best guess for this one. However, it appears to be over your desired budget of $150/nite... have you already tried PRICELINE and were rejected for that price or still looking to bid? If the latter, is $150 still your maximum bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.central coast,Can you please share your results with the board as a NEW TOPIC so that others will be aware of your win when searching the topic titles and the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.Thanks. ems Posted August 13, 2010 Author Report Posted August 13, 2010 I bid $190 and my bid was accepted for the Hyatt Century Plaza. I thought at the time that I way overbid. If the $202 figure was for the same hotel on Hotwire, I guess that was in the ballpark. As it turns out, the hotel had a Twlight convention going on there...so rooms were at a premium I guess. Thanks!
