Can I bid in the afternoon for that night's accommodation?

Please help me with this. I am considering a trip to OR national parks, but I can't decide where i am going to stay on the way, because it really depends on the weather and etc. Can I bid in the afternoon for that night's accommodation? If not, how late can I bid for the hotels? One day before?

Not all areas allow same day bidding, but where available you can bid on PRICELINE up until 11pm EST while HOTWIRE allows purchases up to 11pm local time of the hotel.

I know this is well after the fact, but I've done it. We were driving through TX and stopped in San Antonio for a few hours over lunch. We decided to try and bid for a nice hotel in Austin for the night.....and it worked!

This is also well after the fact but we have pulled into a hotel's parking lot, plugged our laptop into the cigarette outlet, picked up the hotel's WIFI and price lined. Didn't get that place but got the place next door. Ideal when you are traveling down I 75.
