TKenney Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone for posting their hotel winnings on this board. It was really helpful when it came time to place my own bid. Well let's get down to the business at hand. My fiance and I had to take a last minute trip to Winter Park, Florida ( 30 mins north of Universal Studios and Sea World) for a family member's graduation. We put the bid in 5 days before we wanted to go the trip, so we were a bit skeptical of the savings. So here is our breakdown of the savings. We left on June 4th 2010 and returned June 6th, 2010.We bid on two roundtrip tickets at $150.00 each, that didn't work so we bid $170.00 and it worked. Delta Airlines ( 1 connection Atlanta, GA) 2 Tickets-170 each with taxes and fees $416.00Hotel roomSince we purchased the airline tickets with PRICELINE we received $5 bonus cash for our hotel room bid. We bid $35 a night for a 3 star hotel room. Plus the $5 bonus cash. So we paid $176.00 with taxes at the Holiday Inn Express at UCF. It was a very nice and clean place. Very nice staff and I would reccomend them to anyone. I looked up the price on their site and they wanted $108.00 per night. So we saved alot of money. Rental CarWe also used PRICELINE for the rental car and we bid $15.00 o a midsize car and won that bid with Alamo. We ended up paying $118.00 with taxes. We ended up driving a Chevy HHRSo for a last minute trip we saved a sunstantial amount of money.
