Bogey Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 I started looking in the 2-3* range in the central areas of DC in the $60-70 range, but realized that there is no such thing.Investigating the areas that are good to stay in I got hooked on Dupont Circle/Woodley Park. Hotwire and lastminutetravel.com (don't forget this one when investigating) had 4* for $99-109 for this period, very often even cheaper than the 3*. Looking directly at Omni Shoreham website, for instance, they had a special for $120, so this was a good starting point.I started with 4* $75, then 3.5* $78 which were rejected.Next day 4* $81 which was rejected, but this time with the opportunity "If you want to rebid immediately for $15 more.." I rebid for $96 (which was what I was expecting to pay in the end anyway). It was accepted for Hotel Palomar.Looking at the reviews I am quite happy with this very centrally located hotel.
